If you are planning an event or working with
a group organizing a party,

be a guest at your own event, no matter how big or small.

Whether your celebration is for a birthday party - sweet 16 or quincea˝era, ministry, anniversary, graduation or retirement, baby or bridal shower, family or school reunion, or even a formal - wedding & reception, or an awards banquet -- the things you will need to consider are the same.

As you begin any event planning process, three questions will be asked of you early on in the process. The answers to these questions are the foundation to planning a successful event, and many other decisions are impacted by these as you continue in your planning:

When is the event?
The date of the event will need to be established, as this can impact many aspects of your event; vendor reservation, guest availability, venue access, and other services needed for your event.

How many people are coming?
When you know the date the event will happen, determining the number of guests in attendance will be critical in securing vendors, the venue, and determining amount of food needed. On average, between 70-80% of invited guests attend an event.

What will my budget be?
Having a good estimation of what your event budget will be, will help in the decisions being made by the vendors and the event planners. Your biggest expense will be for food and the venue. Other vendor costs, such as DJ or photographers are not dependent on the number of people attending the event. Cherith Hall can help you through this process to make your event special and within your budget.

These numbers are very general as each event is unique to what is planned, and there are many variables to take into account. Should the numbers in the chart above not fit into your budget, don't hesitate to discuss with us your plans and we can help you trim without compromise to your event.

How long does it take to plan an event?
The amount of time needed to plan an event is generally dependent on the number of guests attending, and the scope of the event itself. Other factors may be a hard date that can not be changed. On average the chart below helps in putting an event together at Cherith Hall when a hard date is being asked for:

Booking Cherith Hall completely as a full service can take much of the hassle out of the planning process for you, but will cost extra in your budget.

Where will I have the event?
Once you've determined the date, decided the number of people attending, and thought through a preliminary budget for your event, Cherith Hall can help you bring it all together. Five aspects help in the venue selection and Cherith Hall makes it simple for you:

Price generally is the top consideration for most planned events. We work with you to negotiate what we can offer and still stay within your budget to present an event for your guests that will be remembered. If the event is small, some planners opt to having an event at home; this can save you some money, but will in most cases, increase the stress of holding the event.

Location is important for your guests to access easily. Cherith Hall is easily reached by those in South Hill, South Boston, Farmville, Danville and towns in between. Richmonders and those in the Triangle area of North Carolina will find us surprisingly close. Directions are are very easy to follow with few turns off major highways.

Flexibility is our trademark at Cherith Hall. We promise to work with event planners in making your event uniquely yours. Things like handicap accessibility, Do-it-yourself options in bringing your own food, space for dancing, use of our event inventory, off-road parking are some of the items we offer.

Ambiance can be whatever the event planner and Cherith Hall work out for the event; from casual to formal. To at Cherith Hall providing the backdrop to express the event or the planner providing what is needed. We work with the planner to create the "atmosphere" desired for the event.

Amenities are offered as part of the overall package negotiated at Cherith Hall. We offer a varied event inventory which includes outdoor games, petting zoo and pony rides to a large assortment of decorations. Arbors, gazebo, a 1 acre pond, table settings and limited linens can enhance your event and we have access to secure most event items needed.

Virginia wedding venue---------

Cherith Hall Services include:
FREE LIMITED EVENT CONSULTATION - Either by e-mail, phone, or appointment to customize your ideas, dreams, requirements, and budget.
QUOTATION - We will supply you with a written quotation and details of the services to be provided upon completion of consultation.
DEPOSIT - Reserving an event date requires a nonrefundable deposit. Deposit amounts vary based on package selected.

Policies:
Marriage License:
It will be the full responsibility of the wedding couple to apply for and pick up their Virginia marriage license at any county court house. The minister of vows will need to see this prior to performing the ceremony.
Authorization:
Upon contract agreement we require credit card details to ensure your booking. A nonrefundable deposit due and payable upon receipt of the signed contract by CornerStone Farm, which guarantees your date. The remaining balance is due and payable 30 days before the event, or by written contract.
Payment Options: Charges (VISA, MasterCard), personal checks, traveler's checks, money orders and cash accepted for deposits and final balance.
Payment Schedule: An alternate payment schedule can be negotiated. Ask for details
Cancellation: The deposit is nonrefundable should the event be canceled at any time for any reason. In the unlikely event of cancellation within 30 days of the event, a 100% charge of the contracted costs will be made to the credit card information provided at signing.
Alcoholic beverages: We do not provide alcohol, but you could bring your own; limited to wine and champagne. A nonrefundable fee will be charged for the use of any alcohol on the premises, based on the total number of guests.
